So get ready to ring in 2020 feeling clear-headed and energized! The ingredients for this tasty beverage are simple, delicious and powerful.

How to use

Drink this super detox beverage one to three times daily, about 20 minutes before meals. I’m confident you will love how great you feel if you incorporate this drink into your daily routine!

INGREDIENTS:

Always choose organic when possible

  • 1 glass of warm or hot water (12–16 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar. Bragg’s is a great brand
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Fresh squeezed if possible
  • ½–1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon raw, local honey or organic maple syrup (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix all ingredients together. Use a fork or whisk, or my favorite method is put all the ingredients in a Mason jar (I love Mason jars!), screw the lid on tight and shake.
  2. Drink warm, or pour over ice for a refreshing warm weather beverage.
  3. Enjoy!

This detox drink contains lots of great ingredients to aid in digestion, improve liver function, and more. Here are five reasons to drink this detox beverage daily:

  1. Apple cider vinegar can improve your metabolism and digestive function, while cleansing your liver and lymphatic system. It is also an excellent source of enzymes. Enzymes aid digestion and relieve your body of the energy expenditure of making digestive enzymes.
  2. Lemon juice is a tried-and-true detox ingredient. Drinking lemon water, or adding it to your drinks and juices, can help to boost your energy levels, detoxify your body, keep skin glowing and improve immune function. Plus it is rich in vitamin c, and like apple cider vinegar, is a potent source of enzymes.
  3. Cinnamon, cayenne pepper and ginger contain therapeutic compounds that help to reduce inflammation, aid digestion and boost your metabolism. Ginger and cayenne have stimulating properties, for a caffeine-free (and crash-free!) energy boost. Cinnamon can help lower blood sugar levels.
  4. An optional ingredient for your detox drink is raw honey. Raw honey is a nutrient-dense natural sweetener. It adds a touch of sweetness while nourishing the body with antioxidants and enzymes. It also soothes sore scratchy throats that can be common in winter. Note: Don’t add raw honey to boiling water. Let the water cool to a drinkable temperature in order to preserve the beneficial effects of they enzymes and antioxidants. These delicate compounds are easily destroyed by too-hot water.
  5. This drink can help prevent dehydration during cold weather. The artificial heat in our living environments and cars can be very dehydrating. This makes us more prone to dry, itchy skin, brain fog and fatigue, and reduces our immune system function. Plain water is great, but this tasty drink is an easy and tasty way to stay hydrated.
